Labor Day Weekend
Whitney Lea
I spent a glorious Labor Day weekend with Sam and my mom at a cottage in Pine Plains, New York. The cottage is owned and decorated by Inez Foose, an artist based in New York City, who seemed follow her vision through in every last detail. When we opened the door it felt like we had walked onto the set of Moonrise Kingdom or into a rustic, yet homey cabin from the 1960s.
This was the second house we've rented from Home Away and both experiences were really special. It's something I would recommend to anyone!
Here are some pictures Sam and I took in hopes of capturing the dreamy vacation house we had the pleasure of staying in!
The main room with a window peeking back into the main bedroom (by me)
The table in the main room, opposite the couch. (by me, and this is totally blown out because I don't know how to use this camera as well as Sam does.)
The kitchen (by me)
Lighting in the main room (by me). That's a sled in the rafters in the foreground.
A corner in the living room (by me)
The kitchen sink (by me)
Close-up of the backsplash (by me). It's a mosaic of old plates and cups, featuring some really cool souvenir plates!
The kitchen window with more cute plates! (by me)
The hallway looking into the main room (by me, with some major distortion going on here!)
Looking into the doorway of the main bedroom (by me)
Another angle of the bedroom chair and dresser (by Sam)
A cute little painting that hung on my side of the bed (by me)
The smaller bed in the back of the house (by me)
A bedside table with an amazing souvenir clock (by me)
The heavenly outdoor shower (by Sam)
